Copenhagen Climate Summit for Mayors

We will gather the mayors from all the large cities that are willing and able to take action to improve the global climate and that can also support an ambitious climate agreement in connection with the UN Climate Change Conference in 2009. The world's large cities are responsible for 75% of CO₂ emissions globally. We need to change climate behavior and attitudes in these cities, which, in many cases, also hold the key to innovative solutions. A recommendation from the mayors of the world to the heads of state of the world will therefore be a central part of the Copenhagen Climate Summit for Mayors.
