Breaking the Climate Deadlock

In June 2008, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, in cooperation with the Climate Group, published a non-profit initiative called "Breaking the Climate Deadlock" (visit homepage). Along with the initiative, the "Breaking the Climate Deadlock" also published a 64-pages report by the same name. The report was submitted to the G8 Hokkaido Toyako Meeting in Japan.

The report (read here)reiterates that "there is now virtually overwhelming evidence about climate change and its consequences; there remain uncertainties, but the risks of negative and irreversible consequences are clearly high".

Further, Tony Blair writes in the foreword of the report, "what is essential is that the world, especially the world of business, gets from Copenhagen a clear, unequivocal, radical direction. The exact speed of travel may vary and will be adjusted in time. But everyone needs to know that the direction is plain and unambiguous".
