European Climate Change Programme

The European Climate Change Programme (ECCP) is another good place to look. ECCP is the European Commission's main instrument to help identify the most environmentally effective and most cost-effective policies and measures that can be taken at European level to cut greenhouse gas emissions, and also to discuss and prepare the further development of the EU's climate policy. The Commission runs this programme in close cooperation with a wide range of stakeholders.

The first phases of the ECCP1 were launched during 2000-2004. The second phase of the European Climate Change Programme was launched on October 2005. The ECCP II consists of several working groups: the ECCP I review, aviation, CO2 and cars, carbon capture and storage, adaptation, EU Emission Trading Scheme review.
