European Environmental Bureau
European Environmental Bureau (EEB) is a network organization consisting of more than 140 environmental NGOs from all EU Member States and most Accession Countries, as well as in a few neighbouring countries. The aim of the EEB is to protect and improve the environment of Europe, to and combat climate change, and to enable the citizens and the NGOs of Europe to play their part in achieving that goal.
Working method
EEB runs multiple projects related to the climate issue - e.g. sustainable development, energy policy and natural resources. For instance, the EEB runs the program Climate Change and Energy where it works closely together with Climate Action Network Europe on the issue of climate change. (CANE is a part of CAN International). Further, EEB has consultative status at and takes on lobbyist activities with the Council of Europe, the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Economic and Social Committee of the European Union, the OECD, and the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development (UNCSD). In this process, the EEB contributes to the climate change campaign by highlighting links between climate and waste, agriculture, air pollution and Integrated Pollution Prevention Control.
